Festivals

  • Lifetime Achievement in the Arts
    The City’s Arts Commission annually recognizes a Webster Groves resident for a lifetime of accomplishments in the arts. Past recipients include Arthur Osver, Ernestine Betsberg, Clif and Nance St. James, Gerald Early and Ed Boccia. www.webstergroves.org/lifetimeachievement


  • Paint Webster
    Artists from the region participate in a plein aire event held throughout the community on the first or second Saturday of May. See www.wcaf.artandair.com for further information.


  • Secret Gardens of Webster Tour
    This annual early May event features fine residential gardens throughout the City.


  • Art & Air
    A juried art show featuring over 100 juried artists from around the country; held the first weekend of June (Friday evening through Sunday) on the Eden Seminary campus; includes live music, fine food, and children’s art studios. See www.artandair.com for further information.


  • Old Orchard Gazebo Series
    Outdoor concerts and movies offered on select Friday evenings during June and July in the City’s Gazebo Park located in the Old Orchard Business District at Big Bend and South Old Orchard. See www.oldorchardwg.com.


  • Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival
    A Saturday music festival featuring two stages and a day of noted musical performances held in mid-September in the heart of Old Webster. Street vendors add to the festivities. See www.shopoldwebster.com.


  • Awards of Excellence
    The City’s Arts Commission sponsors this annual event each November that recognizes and honors good design in architecture, landscaping, craftsmanship, and historic preservation. Nominations are sought in July and August each year. See www.webstergroves.org/awardsofexcellence for further information.


  • Hixson Holiday House Tour
    This early December Sunday afternoon tour features homes decorated for the holidays as well as hand crafted boutique items.


  • Webster Groves Community Days
    A multi-day celebration occurs each year with the July 4th holiday. Events include a carnival and bar-b-q held at Memorial Field generally from July 1 through July 4, a community parade that winds through the heart of the City, a Miss Webster pageant, Family Day activities, music, and fireworks.   • Ivory Crockett Run
    A run/walk named after Ivory Crockett, a local resident who held the record for the 100-yard dash until recently, occurs on the first Saturday of October. Participants register and begin the run/walk on the Old Webster parking deck. A 100-yard dash for children also takes place.


  • Old Webster Holiday Open House
    Each year the merchants in Old Webster sponsor a holiday open house on the first Sunday of November. See shopoldwebster.com.


  • Webster Groves Farmers Market
    Runs from May – October on Thursday evenings from 3 – 7pm on South Old Orchard near the intersection of Big Bend and Lockwood. Features produce, eggs, nuts, bakery items, meat, plants and more. www.wgfarmersmarket.org
